Blog Post #3: Memes
Introduction:
For this week's blog post, we were to make a rough draft of our meme project. As shown above, I decided to do my own take on the Kermit the Frog meme, since that is one of my favorites. Before and while I created this meme, I learned some interesting things from reading the weekly readings as well as creating the meme itself.
What I Learned:
While starting the creation of my meme, I learned a lot about adjustment layers on Adobe Photoshop. One thing I learned about adjustment layers that was really helpful while starting this project was how to control which layers are affected by each adjustment layer. You can do this by clicking the icon that is on the bottom of the properties page, which makes it so that whatever adjustment you are making is restricted to one layer.
I also learned how to resize an image on Adobe Photoshop. You can do this by choosing image, then image size. From there, leave width and height set to inches for printing purposes. Next, deselect resample to save the original number of image pixels. Then, in the Resolution field, set the pixels per inch to 300, then click OK and you're done!
Conclusion:
After starting the creation of my meme, I feel more confident of my abilities to use Adobe Photoshop, especially in my ability to resize an image, and use the adjustment layers correctly. I am excited to apply these skills in the projects that our class has to do going forward, and I am excited to see everyone else's final product memes!
